About The Role

Medical Rescue are currently working with their client to establish remote emergency medical capabilities in the Snowy Mountains, NSW. As such, they now require Paramedics to join the multidisciplinary team to collaboratively deliver advanced level medical care to workers on a large construction project in the out of hospital environment. The roles being, 2 weeks on 2 weeks off rotating between day and night shift. Reporting into the Medical Director and liaising closely with the Clinical Operations Manager, as a Paramedic, you may be dispatched to a variety of locations and incidents in Troop Carrier ambulances on the Snowy Hydro 2.0 project. You’ll enjoy fantastic facilities including self-contained accommodation (bedroom, bathroom, tv, internet) with onsite sporting facilities, cinema and bar. Meals are also provided when on site.

As a Paramedic your responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking the full duties of a ACP as defined in your scope of practice.
  • Maintaining patient and team safety during pre-hospital emergencies, extrication from remote or difficult environments and patient transport.
  • Providing clinical care (triage, assessment, treatment, monitoring and transport) to patients in accordance with Clinical Practice Guidelines, standard operating procedures and policies or in consultation with the Medical Director.
  • Maintaining accurate and thorough documentation of interactions with all patients, including reporting.
  • Communicating effectively with other health care professionals, emergency service personnel, colleagues, patients and their friends / relatives.
  • Participating in patient safety, clinical quality, risk management and clinical and operational practice improvement activities.
  • Maintaining the highest levels of integrity and professionalism with respect to the role, including confidentiality and ethical practice.
  • Ensuring the security, safety and maintenance of all equipment, drugs and goods.

You will require prior to employment;

  • Current registration with AHPRA and be in good-standing.
  • Minimum three years’ experience
  • Operational experience with a state based ambulance service (desirable)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Prior experience in remote site or industrial work on construction projects (preferred).
  • The ability to work autonomously, as well as with a team and to be ‘on call’ when required.

  • 4WD training qualification (essential)
  • Current ALS certificate (essential)
  • National Police Check (essential)
