Job Opportunity: Advanced Care Paramedic - Medavie, Canada

Medavie is looking for an Advanced Care Paramedic who will be focused on supporting our day-to-day operations.

The Advanced Care Paramedic provides services consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Medavie.

The position entails, but is not limited to the following:

  1. Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency calls and accidents, providing initial medical assessment and interventions.
  2. Medical Assessment: Perform independent advanced clinical care.
  3. Treatment: maintain effective communication with patients, family members, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible patient care and coordination.
  4. Communication: Maintain effective communication with patients, family members, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best practice possible patient care and coordination.
  5. Documentation: Accurately record patient information, medical procedures performed. And the patient; s response to treatment. This documentation is essential for patient care continuity.
  6. Transportation: Safe transportation of individuals, including emergency and non-emergency responses, as well as inter-facility transfers.
  7. Equipment Management: Maintain and operate ambulances and related equipment in accordance with patient needs and public safety.
  8. Compliance: Clinical expectations and responsibilities for Advanced Care Paramedics are based on the current Provincial or National Occupational Competency Profile and the pprovincial paramedics associations.

As the ideal candidate for this role, you will have:

• Must meet all provincial legislated requirements for Advanced Care Paramedics.

• Must be willing to take the training gaps and exams to become a licensed, unrestricted Advanced Care Paramedic with the Provincial College of Paramedics in the province assigned.

• Must undertake the Class 4 driver’s license in the assigned province.

• Must be willing to obtain the Medical Control Protocols (MCP’s), CPR C for Health Care Providers in the provinces assigned.

• Must submit ITLS, CPR C for Health Care Providers, ACLS, in the province assigned.

• Must submit a current (within last 60 days) valid and clean criminal record check with vulnerable sector check.

• Must demonstrate the ability to work efficiently as a member of the team and possess strong interpersonal skills.

• Must be able to work all shifts as assigned, maintaining a good attendance record.

• Must have a high regard for confidentiality.

• Must have excellent work habits and exhibit professionalism.
