If you are currently completing or have recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Paramedicine e.g., Bachelor of Health Science, (Paramedicine) or Bachelor of Paramedicine in Australia then this role is for you!

Hato Hone St John are excited to launch a streamlined employment pathway for graduates who are eager to enter the workforce and put their studies into practice! The graduate employment pathway is designed to support your transition into a career in paramedicine at Hato Hone St John with a supportive and passionate team of professionals to help you succeed. There are two options depending on location:

Auckland - start as an EMT and immediately enrol in the paramedic internship programme. Outside of Auckland - start as an EMT, then apply for a paramedic internship as vacancies become available.

Entry Requirements

  • Have completed a Bachelor of Health Science (Paramedicine) degree or diploma from an approved New Zealand or Australian Tertiary Provider within two years or
  • A registered Paramedic or able to register with the Australian health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or
  • In your third year of study completing a Bachelor's degree in Paramedicine or equivalent and will be eligible to register with AHPRA on graduation
  • Full Australian drivers' licence for at least 2 years and the ability to convert this to a New Zealand drivers' licence within 3 months of your start date. Check the Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency website for eligibility by following the link: Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency
  • No authority to practice (ATP) is required to apply, you will be supported by a two-week block course and local orientation.
  • Able to start at the end of 2023 or beginning of 2024.
