New Zealand paramedic numbers exceed 2,000

Paramedics make an enormous contribution to Aotearoa New Zealand’s healthcare system and play a critical role in supporting our communities.
Te Kaunihera Manapou | Paramedic Council (Te Kaunihera) is pleased to share that there are now 2,022 paramedics in Aotearoa New Zealand! Paramedicine became a regulated healthcare profession on the 1st Hānuere/January 2020, with paramedic registration opening for the first time on the 12th Maehe/March 2021.
