Job Opportunity: Engagement Communications Officer - Australasian College of Paramedicine


Are you passionate about engaging with and supporting health professionals and students? Do you have excellent communications and/or marketing skills? If so, we have an exciting new opportunity for you to join us as our Engagement Communications Officer focused on supporting our team to engage with paramedics and student paramedics. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can help drive engagement and attract new members to the College.

About the College

The Australasian College of Paramedicine (the College) is the peak professional association for paramedics in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. The College represents and supports over 10,000 paramedics and student paramedics. The College champions the role of paramedics in emergency, urgent and primary care, and we are committed to enhancing person-centred care for the community.

About the role

After a department review and desire to improve member engagement, the College is looking for an Engagement Communications Officer to assist in enhancing our member and profession engagement and service delivery, and help achieve strong membership growth across Australia and Aotearoa.

The role requires communications and/or marketing experience with a focus on growing engagement and membership sales, ideally in the not-for-profit / member association space.

Note: This is a new role requiring flexibility and initiative to drive its success, and presents a great opportunity to help build engagement from the ground up.

Role detail

This is a full-time role offered on 12 month contract with opportunity to extend.

The College has a remote-based, work from home workforce, meaning the Engagement Communications Officer will work from their own home office and can be based in any location.

Key Accountabilities

  • Together with the team, develop campaigns and online content for college website and social media applications.
  • Assist in developing marketing collateral for use by the engagement team at events and promotions.
  • Measure web traffic and engagement and provide key monthly reports to managers.
  • Assist with data collation and analysis to measure trends and effectiveness of campaigns.
  • Work closely with the member engagement and marketing and communications team to ensure strategic focus of content development.
  • Produce quality written and visual material that connects with members and target audience, boosting engagement and brand awareness.
  • Assist in the editing, refreshing and upload of recorded educational content (video and audio).
  • Proof reading of member communications.
  • Coordinate relationships with member exclusives / member benefits suppliers.

Selection criteria

Essential:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a communications, marketing or digital role, with a relevant qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience in communications or marketing for customer or member engagement, preferably in a membership or not-for-profit organisation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work confidently with technology and software including content management systems, email marketing systems, design software etc.
  • Self-motivated, pro-active and results orientated.

Desirable:

  • Basic graphic design ability.
  • Knowledge of the health system and health professions is considered a bonus.
  • Experience working with volunteers and/or in a Not for Profit membership environment.
