EOI - Representing the College on industry committees
The College is looking for members who have the relevant knowledge and skills, can represent the College in a professional manner and act as an ambassador for the College’s purpose on industry committees.
The College is seeking representatives for the following external committees:
- Australian Resuscitation Council - website
The Australian Resuscitation Council is a voluntary co-ordinating body which represents all major groups involved in the teaching and practice of resuscitation. The Australian Resuscitation Council is sponsored by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. The Australian Resuscitation Council produces Guidelines to meet its objectives in fostering uniformity and simplicity in resuscitation techniques and terminology. Guidelines are produced after consideration of all available scientific and published material and are only issued after acceptance by all member organisations.
- Ambulance Education Committee (CAA) - website
Following the introduction of Paramedic Registration, the Committee will coordinate and improve information exchange on matters relevant to training and ongoing professional development with a focus on postgraduate education.
- Professions Reference Group (Ahpra) - website
The Professional Reference Group (PRG) provides a forum for Ahpra to engage constructively on National Scheme and cross-profession issues with associations representing the regulated professions. The PRG consists of one representative for each of the regulated health professions and the Health Professions Accreditation Collaborative Forum and meets quarterly. The group does not discuss individual registration or notifications matters and has no decision making powers.
- Spinifex Network (Australian Rural Health and Medical Research Network) - website
The Spinifex network is focus on improved the medical research outcomes and impacts for rural Australia.
- University Advisory Committees (when requested for a representative)
The majority of Paramedicine Degree programs have an advisory committee with external contributors. The College will be approaching these universities about providing representation as required.
